Personalia Ruud H. Koning

rhk3.jpg (5224 bytes) I am professor of sport economics at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen and research fellow at SOM. My research focuses on sports, economics, and statistics. I model phenomena in soccer using statistical models, and study the market for sports using economic models. The second theme of my research is micro econometrics and statistics of insurance. Using econometric techniques, I help banks to decide whether or not their risk models are reasonably appropriate. Information on the courses I teach can be found elsewhere. You can download my cv, and a list with publications.
I am part of the organization of the Second Conference on Mathematics in Sports, to be held in June 2009 in Groningen.
